???The Star Spangled Banner was the flag that was flying over Fort McHenry when Francis Scott Key wrote the poem that later became the National Anthem. This flag 15 stripes and stars, but this was the only one to have 15 stripes. After adding the 16th state they decided to change it back to 13 stripes. |
