Eagle Flag Preservation

Assistant Scoutmaster Joe Crownover started a tradition with Troop 7. He had everyone (that he could find, that is) who had attained the rank of Eagle Scout while in Troop 7, (151 are listed) sign an Eagle Flag. We have kept it in the Scout house for all to admire.

He has collected a good number of signatures on this flag, a total of 81, to date, and as a result, the flag was beginning to deteriorate. Joe decided it was time to retire this flag and begin a new one. Mr. Ken Kessler, President of the Coral Gables Kiwanis Club, generously offered to have the old flag framed in a permanent manner for future Scouts of Troop 7 to enjoy and appreciate and as a reminder to all of the ultimate goal to obtain.

The framed flag was presented to Troop 7 by Mr. Kessler at the Coral Gables Kiwanis Luncheon on July 7, 1998.

Pictured left to right are: Peter Evangelakis, Mathew Murrel with Scoutmaster Fred Kimball in the rear, Brian "Luke" Duncan, Roberto Burr and Ken Kessler in the rear. We thank Ken for his generous donation!
